The next call for proposals and call for expression of interest
will be opened on September 16th, 2009, the deadline
for submission is November 11th, 2009. You can find
more details on the
ESPON Programme website or
in this document. The research themes proposed for the next call are: – Attractiveness of European regions and cities for residents and visitors – European patterns of land use – Territorial cooperation in transnational areas and across internal/external borders – Accessibility at regional/local scale and patterns in Europe – Secondary growth poles in territorial development – European perspective on specific types of territories – Territorial dimension of innovation and knowledge economy – Continental territorial structures and flows (globalisation) – Services of General Interest – European Seas in Territorial Development – Territorial and Regional sensitivity of EU Directives – Potential of Rural Regions (priority 2) – Transnational Support Method for European Cooperation (priority 2) – Territorial Indicators/Indices (priority 3) The public authorities at central, regional, county and local level should be interested in the call for expressions of interest, within Priority 2, where they can propose studies to be conducted by universities and research institutions, studies that can fundament their policies, in order to increase the competitiveness and the territorial cohesion. Ten research themes will be selected by the Monitoring Committee and launched in the next call for proposals, that will be open most probably in 2010. Here you can see the centralized situation of the calls already launched in the ESPON Programme and of the future calls. On our website you will find details that will help you participate in ESPON projects, and all future calls will be announced in our News section. We recommend you to subscribe to our list of potential beneficiaries in Romania, in order to receive periodically information on ESPON and to be informed by email when the calls for proposals are launched.
